Pouch status

Apparently, the maker of Pouch kayaks (Poucher Boote GMBH) is experiencing some solvency issues. This might have nothing to do with the folding kayak end of the business, since they are diversified in other venues. Indications are that a business deal went sour.
They appear to be very much in business, and I hope that they succeed in navigating this rough spot. In the US, it would be a chapter 11 or 13 issue, NOT chapter 7 bankruptcy.
There is some information on the German faltboot.org, but also a LOT of speculation. Best to take it in with a bit of skepticism.

Hi,

new owner since June is Ingo Jung from (nearby) Bitterfeld. Jung also is CEO of Goitsche Tourism Ltd. and operates a waterpark, so they are hoping for some synergies. New company name is Poucher Faltboot GmbH (Ltd.) They are still in business (have been all the time) and are the last remaining German foldingkayak manufactorer.

Well, that's good news! My E-65 is still going strong. Just revarnished parts of the frame, but it needs a new skin!

Pouch has not been at the annual PaddleExpo in Nuremberg for the last several years. I don't know what that means, other than they do not seem to try to expand sales to new dealers.
