Pouch Eskimo Kayak

Post by westcoastwill »

Pouch used to make a small number of this kayak, called "FaltEski"

It looks a little like a traditional greenland kayak, this kind of boats where quite popular in the 30ies and 40ies, the good ole kayakers navigated everything between alpine whitewater and saltwater between the mediteranean and the northpole with this narrow kayaks.

Is there anybody, who owns and paddles a FaltEski out there?

Hey Willi,

Looks a lot like the Seavivor single Paul paddled, photographed, and reviewed recently. I'd like very much to have either boat.

Yeah, the fire looks a little too close.

Hi Chris,

It seems that the FaltEski is still avaliable by special order from Pouch, the price is approx. 1800 euros.

However, i read on the "inofficial Pouch web site" that it is pretty hard to get into the kayak due to its narrow cockpit.

Here is the link:

Pauls Seavivior seems not to have this problem, great photos!

I would very much like to see more photos and try either kayak.
