I've become quite interested in folding catamarans (but I'm a long way from being able to afford one). The best one may be this one, although I have no experience by which to judge: http://www.ducky.com.ua

Has anyone on this forum tried these, or similar, boats? They are proven-- there is one man who used his for several consecutive solo completions of the Everglades Challenge, and he speaks very highly of them ("Crazy Russian"-- I believe he lives in NYC).

Those are really cool Chris. Thanks for pointing them out. I was a little surprised by the prices... not cheap... Really looks like a lot of fun.

If you have sailed catamarans, there is just a radical difference in their speed compared to monohulls. Furthermore, Hobie 18s have crossed the Atlantic and were the first (yes: the very first) boat to ever complete the Northwest Passage by sail. I would guess that the Duckies aren't quite as fast, but are probably at least as seaworthy.
