Should you visit Burgondy with a folder, you can easily try at least 2 lakes where nobody will prevent you from paddling or sailing. You won't have to pay any fee to launch either.

Here is the position of Burgondy, a French Province.

One of the Lakes I tried is called Saint Agnan (47°19'38.28"N , 4° 5'39.69"E on Google Earth), it's very green, you can see cows bathing, no big crowds. You can rent a few plastic canoes.

The second one, Les Settons (47°11'7.93"N , 4° 4'0.59"E ), is more famous so it's a bit more crowded. There is a State run sailing base and school (Ecole Française de Voile) where you can rent catamarans, dinghys, and hard-shell kayaks.

I sailed Les Settons again last month (not with a Kayak this time, I just bought myself a brand new 12' International Dinghy built in 1943) and it is really a nice place to boat in.

As I bought a GPS recording watch, see the trip I made :
