A cold summer in Alaska

Post by kayakamper »

Although we did not have our folders with us, I feel qualified to post this trip for no other reason but the beauty of Mendenhall Glacier. As you will see by the link, it was at times a little too close to me. My wife, Beth and I rented singles to get, for the first times in our lives, up close and personal to icebergs and a beautiful calving Glacier.

This was about half way through our Inside Passage cruise from Anchorage to Vancouver. There aren't many places in the world more beautiful than this.

You didn't approach closer than the line between the signs, did you? Duck, Sydney Opera House, and Diving Cetacean ice-sculptures were nice touches...

I've been on two fishing trips to Alaska, but I still am in awe of it's beauty. Those are great pictures. I'd love to do that someday.

Yeah, Alaska really is awsome. As lucky as we have been to be able to travel ( http://www.chrisandbethtravels.com ), We found Alaska pretty special.

B.T.W., some of you West Coasters may have some travel deals to Juneau. The pictures were at Mendenhall Glacier which is just a short drive North of the city. The outfitter there
