August 2011, I had a business trip to Stockholm. It gave me a chance to paddle this 2010 European Green Capital.

I did the paddle on 21st Aug and started from a port near Kristineberg. I choiced this place because it was very convenient for me to carry my boat from the hotel to here by T-bana.

Nice trip report of my city, hope you had a good stay. Central Stockholm is nice for paddling, altough there can be heavy (motor) boat traffic that needs attention.

I have to say, Stockholm's environmental protection is very good. There are not water pollution even in the central city. Like my Hometown Guilin China, beautiful water can always attract paddlers .

Looks like a great place for "urban paddling"! You're right, the water is beautifully clear.

It's true that the Stockholm waters are quite clean. Actually, one of the best streams for fishing trout/salmon in whole of Sweden is right in central Stockholm; where lake Mälaren meets the Baltic sea.

Here is some more pics from "Urban Kayaking" in Stockholm, if anyone is interested: http://jarladventures.blogspot.com/2010 ... kholm.html
