Newbie

Post by Brian »

Hello to everyone on the water.
My name Brian Bernard and I’m from Bloomfield, New York
I’m a big Folbot fan and have owned 3 of them.

I like to kayak on the St.Lawrence river and get close to the freighters
I currently own a Folbot Cooper that I’m planning on selling in the spring because I’ve replaced it with a Greenland ll.

I’ll have some questions later but I’m grateful that you are all here.

Brian

I hope when you paddle near the freighters they are moored! Or you get to surf their bow waves. Do you paddle the GII solo? The GII is a fine double but paddles better if you have the solo seat configuration. I have paddled solo from the rear but add weight up front to trim the GII but mostly I use my Aleut for solo. The only person who loves paddling the GII solo that I know is 6'6'' and most other kayaks just don't fit him.

Thanks for the response.
I really respect the freighters so I’m usually a safe distance from them.
Near a dock or at the point of a island so it’s wake will break up.
I’ve bought the Greenland but have not picked up yet.

My 1st Folbot was a wood frame one that was a 2 seater. My dog rode up front and it worked for me.
If I could find a solo kit or some that has made one I would be interested in talking or seeing one.
