Short note to introduce myself. I am an ancient mariner here in the Twin Cities who paddles folding boats and builds some stitch and glue hard shells. Currently between my partner, her 13 year old son and myself we have two Folboats, an Aleut and a Kodiak and a Pakboat Puffin 12. I have recently obtained several Atlyaks for demonstration purposes but have yet to paddle them. I hope to provide my impressions later. Summer projects include a 15 foot skin on frame from and old set of plans from Mechanix Illustrated upgraded with more current materials such as 6 mm epoxyed okume plywood for ribs and ash for longerons and a 16 foot stitch and glue designed by Bob Brown upgraded with bulkheads and hatches. So much for being retired. Anyone in the area who is interested in taking a test ride in an Atlyak feel free to contact me.

I'd love to see those old skin-on-frame plans. I wonder if they're one of the ones Clark Craft sells?
