Hei from Norway!

Post by HeatherJilks »

I'm an English lady living in Norway near Kongsberg (just moved here as I work temporarily in a cross country ski lodge)- trying to buy a second hand K-light kayak on e-bay as itching to get out into the water this spring with a transportable Kayak- Scandanavia seems to be the most unmentioned and yet very good for exploring.
let me know if any of you out there are living in Norway also and want to go out kayaking

K-light (also - Kahuna) are nice boats for short and medium overnight trips in coastal waters, though for daytrip it can be too much pain assembling and packing it in again the same day. Both are a bit bulky and heavy if you have to use public transportation, even with very minimal gear, food and spare clothes. Published weight is for a boat alone, and weight with the backpack, seasock and skirt is about 12 pounds more.
Beware of Ebay scams - for some reason Feathercraft is a popular brand among scammers, though it's mostly more expensive models - K1 and Wisper.
