Hi all,

My name is Jason and although I have been paddling for a few years, I just purchased my first folding boat. Two actually. Even though the company is nonexistent at the moment, I feel I am lucky to have picked up a pair of Folbot Coopers from a couple who put them on the water twice. $1000 for the pair with the expedition kits for both boats. They are in perfect condition. Can't complain about that!

I set them up in my living room to see what it's like. The first took about a half hour looking. Through the instructions, while the second took about 15 minutes from memory. As a side note, two 16 foot boats take up a lot of space in a room.

I am very excited to take the boats out and to learn all I can from this forum!

Thanks,

Jason

Welcome to the forum Jason.

Where did you find the Coopers? I have a little bit of a fleet myself.

Aloha Jason,
I paddle a Folbot Cooper here in Hawaii. I also have the expedition kit. Depending on what year your boats were made there is some great minor mods to the Cooper that make them an even more amazing design. On this forum you will find lots of tips and techniques. If you don't have the airform seat, you may want to upgrade for longer trips on the water. Other Cooper mods include adding some additional velcro straps to secure the longerons better and aquaseal on the seams. Great for here in Hawaii where you can take the Cooper into blue water. There is also some ways to stiffen the stern but you can find that in another place on this forum. Mahalo, Dean

Wow Jason.
That was a incredible deal. Two almost new Coopers. Nice.
Welcome to the new home for Folbot refugees.
