Hi, folks - I'm new to this forum, and joined because in cleaning out my parents' house, we have found a motor for a Klepper. My father tells me it is a 1 hp, from about 1950, and it has hardly ever been used. I thought someone on this forum might have an interest in it, or have suggestions on what to do with it. It seemed too unique to just haul off to the Goodwill! We (and it) are in Rochester, NY, btw. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. T Manning

I'd love to own that, and I'm sure other forum members would be interested, too. Can you post a photo?

Hope you can post some pics of the motor. It is likely a Tummler, which were small 2 cycle "longtail" motors that were popular in the 30's-60's in Germany, but it might be one of the more rare models. Looking forward to your post,
g

It is a Konig motor. I have a couple pictures and will post soon. Since I'm new to site I don't have permission to post photos yet.

There is a great website/compendium of kayaks and related stuff, including sideboard motors. Have you checked you motor against these?

Thanks, g. It looks closest to the 1932 Konig 1 and 1/4 PS motor, though I certainly wouldn't swear that it is.
