Hi All - New guy, also surprised that Folbot is no more.
2000 Aleut, used "quite a bit" over the years in Hawaii, never dis-assembled. Hull is in really good shape, always rinsed, covered
So...moved to Key West, FL early this year, took it apart, front half frame basically fell off the stem, corrosion has left me a pile of aluminum tubes. And rivets made of powder. Stern half pretty good, useable.
Any chance of buying a new front half or whole new frame? Or am I looking at a major fabrication project?
In passing (reading past forum posts) I always had good luck with an extra set of the long tubular floats bungeed to the inside of the gunnels. Used the NRS canoe floats also but was a little overkill, and my drybags worked just as well. Needed something - boat is very tippy when full of water.
Thanks for the site and any ideas. -Mikey

Hi, welcome.
I think I would just try to rivet it back together. My Aleut wasn't as bad, but it did need a couple of rivets. A pop riveter is easy to use and readily available. Good luck.
