Returning to paddling, and here

Post by seanhennessy »

I've joined here under my real name, but I used to be pretty active under the name "nohoval_turrets". I've been away from paddling for most of the last 10 years, and boy, a lot has changed in that time!

I paddle Feathercraft boats - Khatsalano and Kahuna - so the news that they've gone has been a blow. Partly because my Khats is in need of some new parts, but also because I have a lot of affection for these boats, the companies that made them, and the communities of enthusiasts that grow up around them. The demise of Folbot feels like a big loss of heritage too.

For now both my Feathercrafts are "fixer-uppers" so I'm reduced to paddling a hardshell. It's an NDK Greenlader Pro which is quite like the Khats in some ways, but like all hardshells, lacks some of the life and character of a skin-on-frame.

Well, that's it for me!
