Still searching for the Holy Grail

Post by eidsvolling »

As I like to tell people, if there were a perfect boat design, the Navy would only have that one in its fleet.

I remember being in a canoe long before I remember getting my first bike. Over the years I have owned:

OTCA 16, rehabbed by my late father
Bell CJ Solo
Klepper Aerius II
Old Town Penobscot 17 (still here)
Chesapeake Light Craft Chesapeake 17
Chesapeake Light Craft Mill Creek 13 (still here)
Old Town NEXT
Folbot Greenland II - about to pick it up next weekend, prompting my registration here.

Looking forward to picking through your collective wisdom!

Welcome aboard!
There's no such thing as too many boats. I currently own 8, 4 of which fold, but only one is a kayak. I also have an ultralight lapstrake canoe, and have had other paddlers.

Thanks! I caught the bug from my father, so it's an incurable defect.
