Morning, all!

Obligatory I'm-not-a-spammer post from someone whose usual internet forum m.o. is lurking. ;)

I've done a bit of paddling in non-folding kayaks in various places from Maine to Pennsylvania (live in SE PA). Looking at folding kayaks because of space issues, but also because of the thrill of being able to throw it in the back of the car just in case the conditions are right. The orus look like they've got production issues, so I suspect my best bets are trak or a pakboat quest 150. Trak looks lovely but expensive and since I'm not going to drop that kind of cash on just a few days' pondering (I see you, impending June 30th ordering deadline!) probably several years away. Quest looks lovely (and with a rudder, no less!) but a little time-consuming to put together. So I lurk. And scheme. And go for a run in this dreadful heat instead of hitting the water. ;)

I started with folders when I was driving a little Saturn wagon. I had a canoe, but I couldn’t really leave it tied to the roof of my car parked in midtown Detroit.

I kept my Folbot Inuit in the back of that wagon one summer, and several days a week i made a 100 mile round trip after work to get in a few hours of paddling.

Just wanted to say a quick thank you in the general direction of this board! I find myself poking around various pages a couple times a week and have picked up both a PakBoat Quest 135 *and* a Trak T-1600 thanks to posts on here and am nearly overwhelmed with joy and gratitude both for the boats and for everyone's the insights on them and everything else!

Wishing all y'all many happy paddles!
