I have two sea socks, that both have fit on my Feathercraft coamings -- one is FC and the other is home made. I have not used either in a while and don't actually need two -- the homemade one came with a boat I bought used. If you are still looking for one I can take them out and check them to see if they are still functional. I know the sprayskirt that I got along with the FC kayak and sea sock is no longer effectively waterproof -- the coating has failed. So that may be the case with the sock.

Let me know if you are still in the market for one and I will inspect and test these to see if they are still functional before offering them for sale.

I guess I was not specific enough -- the Feathercraft seasock I have came with my Wisper. The other is a well constructed homemade one that came with my skin on frame Greenland replica. The replica has a keyhole cockpit that is the identical size to the Wisper -- I know this because the Feathercraft spray skirt that came with it fits the Greenland exactly. So either one would fit your Wisper.

I did dig them out of their storage containers in the basement on the weekend and have to inspect them -- might fill them up with the hose to check for leakage (both have taped and coated seams). Raining out there today (Monday) and I am going out of town early Tuesday until Friday. I will let you know next weekend if either is still functional.

By the way, if neither of the ones I have is usable, Black Dog Kayaks sells several sizes of sea socks for $130. The large size should fit yours (I think the Wisper circumference is around 90" and it fits up to 92" -- my Wisper is not set up at the moment so I can't check it for sure):

Okay, got it. I'll go measure my cockpit. Thanks for the feedback. Look forward to a future chat.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, Rusty. I was out of town most of August (kayaking in the Great Lakes with other boats in the fleet) and have not had a chance to unpack the Wisper and check the coaming circumference. But, as I said, the sea sock is an original Feathercraft that came with my Wisper, so I have no doubt it will fit. I think I will just keep the home-made one since it fits both kayaks and I am more apt to use it with the other (non-Wisper) which it was made to fit.

I'll "leak test" the Feathercraft one as soon as I can to see if it is still functional. I only used it once and it has been stored carefully, but you never know with coated fabrics. Need to determine if it would be worth your time and money to have it.

I'll be tied up this weekend but try to get to it next week. I hope my delay in getting back to you about this has not inconvenienced you.

HOwdy, I'll still be interested.
Doug at FC has just contacted me and is making a sock for me. I'm interested in having two, a back up. So let me know when you know more. Thanks for the contact.
I'm at a remote cabin in Colorado currently and just received internet. Communications are slow here, challenging actually. Thanks again, Rusty
