Hi!

This is both an announcement and a question...

1) http://www.askr.no/index.lasso?cat=Home&site=askr.no_en

This event sounds super fun in my opinion! I will really try to be there. The name is a bit missleading I think (it was just a race a decade ago -- now you can join the "ramble" and also "the camp" with instructors).

2) Any folding kayaks fanatics joining this before?
In my opinion this is an event that folding kayaks should be super. Both long transportation and also rough sea conditions..

I tried to see if I could see any folding vessels in the pics, but none...

I hope I will meet some of you there next year!

So... now I have joined the ASKR short ramle. It was just fantastic!

The arrangement was much better than you could expect from the a bit ugly looking web site.

I was the only folding kayaker of all the 80 kayaks. Very strange in my opinion... this is so far away from everything... and the renting kayaks were not the best... Is it that fun to drive cars thousands and thousands kilometers...?

I had a nice time on the train. With my Pouch Single 2000 and 30kg equipment... so I had about 65 kg.

It was not so much international visitors (a small group from Russia, a Dutch and a family from France and the rest were Norwegians and some Danish and Swedes). All information talks were in English.

I had no problem at all with all faster hardshells kayaks... but I think it was smart of me to join the slower group (short ramble).

You can watch some pics here if you want to, and please take the opportunity to paddle in arctic water to a resonable cost and with a very nice company!

Great to see an E68 in such surroundings!
