On July 29th a folding kayak specific training course will take place in Vancouver BC. Read on…

"The folding kayak community is a growing one with many making the switch from hardshells to foldable kayaks. The properties of a foldable that separate it from a hardshell are also the same properties which make existing intermediate/advanced paddle technique courses less-than-ideal for foldable owners.
In that regard, Ecomarine of Vancouver and Feathercraft have teamed up together and are offering a unique opportunity for foldable kayak owners interested in taking their basic paddling skills a step further. The offering will be a private lesson(s) with emphasis on bracing, edging, and eventually rolling techniques specifically for foldable kayaks. The expectation is that participants will already possess the ability to self-rescue (a skill which is applicable to both hardshell and foldable kayaks). Costs for this offering will be slightly higher than what Ecomarine currently charges for private lessons due to its unique nature (see Ecomarine's private rates on their website). It obviously is also dependent on the number of participants so come on out! With that said, it’s hard to put a price on safety skills which will last a lifetime of paddling.”

Those interested in taking the course please contact "orchido" in this group.

How did this go last year? Doing it again this year?

How great would it be to see all the folding boats together with their manufacturers in one place at one time... dream, dream, dream...
