Need to remove the bladders from my (secondhand) Sevylor Colorado but the zippers are corroded and wont budge. Tried WD40 to no avail. Anyone got any other ideas, or know of anyone in the UK who can replace the zippers?

Thanks in anticipation!!

Is it definitely corrosion? I occasionally find that zips on wetsuits that aren't used for a while salt up and become unmoveable. The solution to that is simple - boiling water. If you can immerse it, so much the better, but if not just keep pouring it on while working the zipper. Possibly try poking something thin in there to break up the unwanted matter as well. Failing that, a good independent shoe repairer will almost certainly be able to replace zips for you (don't try Timpson, they only do easy repairs and will probably tell you it's unrepairable)

Hi, try painting on neat vinegar (white is cheapest) this will SLOWLY dissolve oxidization from Alloy/Brass. This MAY take several days. (soak if possible).
Pick out any solid lumps with a needle, then work slider backwards AND forwards.
Patience is important as it is possible to damage slider/teeth if brutality is involved.
cheers, Wayne
