Folbot keel strip?

Post by skyl4rk »

I have a 1980's era Folbot Super in used but decent condition with a few cracks and small holes on the skin at the keel. Is there a tape that I can use to reinforce this area? I am not sure if it is leaking, I have not had it in the water yet.

Gorilla Tape is pretty good. I would use two or three strips on top of each othher.

I'm going to try (when it gets delivered) Eternabond double-sided tape and a strip of PVC-coated nylon fabric as the abrasion/cut resistant outer layer. I have a few Pakboats made out of the PVC-coated nylon fabric and those hulls are surprisingly durable and, so far, impossible to damage.
