If you have a Greenland II can you switch over to the aluminum frames through all production years? Is there an early cut off date when they would not match up?
Thanks,

I believe all years are interchangeable.

vitaly is correct.
The AL crossframes retrofit to any year GII.
But
There can be a problem with the keel plates that the crossframes lock into.
The older keel plates for the poly crossframes had a keyhole to take the brass screw head in the crossframe. The switch to AL crossframes can have a problem - the bottom of the crossframe can deform the keyhole and pop out. This usually happens if you step into the boat and put your full weight on the keel tubing right next to the keel plate. When the boat is in the water, you should step onto the skin rather than the keel tubes. Then you'll probably never have the problem. Folbot changed the keyhole to a half keyhole to minimize the problem.
I'm searching for my pics to illustrate. Be back when I find them.

Hi Flatwater,
Yes Got it , I was looking at an older Aleut in the shop. Another issue I have seen is the ears of the Al ribs are quite small and stepping on the keel tubing of our 2015 G II results in the same issue. It does not damage the frame plates they are pretty tough but you have to step on the fabric to avoid having the rib pop out.
Thanks for the info

Yup.
You got it.
Instead of trying to write this up in the forum, I added a page to my web site that explains the whole thing.
http://jeeps-folbots-etc.co.nf/folbot/m ... e_fix.html
So
If you have an old GII and some new, AL crossframes, you may run into that problem.
I have a stash of the new keel plates and SS brackets which I'm hoarding since there will be no more.
I case you hadn't noticed, Eric let the folbot.com domain name lapse. If I had some money to burn, I'd register it to save it for the future. Apparently Eric doesn't think he'll need it in the future. Methinks that bodes ill.

That helps clear this up. I appreciate the details Thanks.
So Folbot looks to be over for sure... I had not tried to view the site lately.... End of an era. I bought my first boat - a folding super here in VT in the early 70's... I even had a homemade sail rig :~)
I just found another Pionier 520 Z frame in great shape. That is my next project. We had a pleasant winter in FL & Ann R's Flotilla continues to prosper. I hope you get out on the water this summer.
