Long story, I traded a complete GII (included the paddles) with a Chicago man for a Piecses Folbot. The trade went well except the paddles weren't with the Piecses. The fellow said he would ship them, and I trusted him. The short of it is its been months, many Voice Mails, I have a boat with no paddles. Anyone that has a pair for sale let me know.

There is one for sale on Ebay in NY, but he's asking too much (though it says "best offer" so you might see what he would take.) ... e&_sacat=0

Unless you are a purist and want to stick with those big flapper paddles for authenticity, you might consider just contacting one of the wooden paddle makers, like Tuktu or Beale, and have them make you a couple of wooden Aleut paddles. Stock length for an Aleut is 96" which would probably work fine, being a narrower blade, or you could order them longer. 270 cm is awfully long for a paddle, even for a 29" beam. We used to use 230 cm in the bow seat and a 240 cm in the stern position in our 27" beam canoe.

There was a brief exchange a couple years ago on here about the "clunky" Folbot paddles:

Feathercraft Wisper
Pakboat Quest 135
Pakboat Puffin 12
Pakboat Swift 14
Greenland SOF
P & H Easky 15LV
Curtis Lady Bug solo canoe
Feathercraft Kahuna
Feathercraft K-1 Expedition
Pakboat XT-15

My favorite paddle is one my father cut from a spruce 2x4. It's sort of a hybrid between Greenland and American styles. It's light, springy and was very cheap to make.

Nautiraid make a nice slender paddle called Eskimo their longest is about the length you want, I have one and they are excellent. I like long paddles.
