Hello,

I just purchased a full deck for my 2009 Edisto (was lucky enough to find the same color via Amazon).
I've installed the deck twice this past week (in the living room, for practice) and both times I've had considerable difficulty fitting the last T-bolt through its corresponding deck grommet. This final fixture would be the grommet furthest aft, as per instructions. Both times, I've really had to pull down hard on the deck fabric in order to get this last T-bolt through the hole.
Not only is this a real pain, I'm afraid of eventually damaging, even ripping the deck by having to yank on it so hard.

Am I doing something wrong or stupid? Has anyone else had this problem? Conversely, the deck around the bow nose is somewhat loose, but I imagine that shouldn't present any problem when paddling...

If any other Edisto users also have full-deck experience, any tips or suggestions would be most welcome!

Hi Mike,

I think I responded to you on the Folbot Owners facebook site. I think might was equally tight and I just decided to stay with the mini-decks. I typically only use the Edisto when heading into flooded woods and creeks off of a lake, so no current to worry about.

Is the deck made of nylon, polyester or acrylic? If polyester or acrylic, it won't stretch much when wet. Nylon will stretch quite a bit. I have a cockpit cover for my Aleut that is nylon. It gets quite loose when wet, which is a bit disappointing.

Hose the deck down and check it out.

Thanks Rich (Hoosier), yes you did indeed reply to my query via Facebook.

MGGRADY: I believe the deck is polyester. I'll give it a try this autumn, don't plan on using the full deck this summer. Thanks for your reply.
