"On the post-2000 models with welded seams, the serial number should be on a
small "name plate" welded on the deck at the stern near the rudder V-block.
The serial number on older Feathercraft is on a small white tag is sewn into
the skin at the back (stern side) of the cockpit opening just under the
deck."

Thanks guys- I have a 1994 production. Not the latest but in good shape. Now if I can just introduce it to my wife in a way she will like it we'll be set for some paddling this summer. James

I cannot find an ID tag. There is a stenciled "030487" on the inside of the cockpit by the patent information also stenciled in. Does this mean March 04, 1987? It definitely is an older K-1 with the integral spray skirt.

A quick call to Feathercraft will get your answer, they are very friendly and responsive.

called Feathercraft. Confirmed the 87 meant 1987 but the woman I spoke to could not recall what the other numbers stood for. In keeping with most other manufacturing ID numbers I will continue to say the 03 means March and the 04 means the Fourth day. Only alternative would be 304th K1 built in 1987.
My second question, is there a retro fit for the built in spray skirt the answer is "no."

Or the 304th day of 1987.
