The one piece fiberglas cockpit coaming can be difficult to install during the assembly process and, on my old K-light, the deck skin would often seperate in places and I'd have to reinsert it. On the other hand, the old style might have held the sprayskirt more securely but I've never had a problem with the sprayskirt or seasock coming adrift on my Kurrent and I certainly prefer the ease of simply inserting the two plastic pieces into the coaming closure. Anyway, I don't see this as a deal breaker if the boat is in good shape and well priced. Good luck.
