No, not a CLC kit. Torn between wanting to build a CLC Southwester Dory or a B&B Core Sound 17 Mark 3-- but I don't have room for either. I'd also love to build one of Dave Gentry's pulling boats-- the "Ruth"-- but don't even have space for that.

"CLC has taken over the distributorship for Nautiraid in the US, which should count as a major event in the world of folding kayaks. It was lost in the din of the Folbot collapse, as they happened at about the same time."

Thanks for the info - didn't know that. I've been intrigued by the Nautiraids for a while and would like to test paddle on someday. THe fish-form style must handle considerably different than the swede-form boats I have.

Dennis, I built the CLC Chessie 16 from a kit back in 1999 - great boat and a nice kit. Easy to build, just takes time.

I replaced a badly broken down Aerius II hull with a custom Wayland hull this summer. I am very happy with it. It fits the original frame perfectly and the workmanship is very nice. Besides the fact that Homeland Security interviewed me about my "suspicious military package" from Poland before releasing it to me, I couldn't be happier with my experience with Simon at Wayland. :)
