warping

Post by tralalela45 »

The bow part of my Klepper warped and the hull has a tiny but visible curvature to the right. It does not affect tracking at all.

I stored it assembled. I did not expect this one. Can that be corrected? Do I purchase a new spare part? I read that warping can be caused by water fi the hull is not dry enough.

Thanks

This is a reply to an 8 year old post but I imagine that people still encounter this a lot. I know I have.

Soak the bow/stern piece in hot water and then clamp it suspended between two blocks of wood at the ends and over bend the warp in the other direction with another clamp. Leave it like that until it's completely dried. Release from the clamps and see how you did.

Thanks for the info. I just picked up a Blauwai 4 frame and the 7th Rib is quite tweaked. I will give this a try.
I had one fractured rib and it responded to a bit of fiberglass cloth and epoxy.
