Apparently Long Haul can build a wood adaptor that allows a Klepper Aerius-2 or Long Haul Mark 2 to accomodate an Alden Oarmaster (see http://www.rowalden.com). Is anybody out there using such a setup or other rowing configuration?
If so, could you post a report of your experiences?

Hi

I rowed my AEII with a Martin Oarmaster for years. It was great. I built an adapter for the keel out of some doug fir strips so the oarmaster just dropped in. The boat was fast, stable and fun. Charlie Porter rowed something like that around Cape Horn....you can really cover the distance.

There is also a "rowsurfer" for sale out of The Netherlands.
http://www.rowsurfer.com
It allegedly can be used on row kayaks.
For the Klepper it would hang from the "gunnels" (I think that is the name for the combing piece)
Has anyone had experience with this setup on a Klepper?

Could be purchased by Klepper as an accessory...

Where can one buy the setup displayed in the picture? I googled but could not find any Klepper related information.

There is a mistake in translation!

Not "could", but "was" an accessory ... in the 80s or 90s

I bought the whole rig about ten years ago, and have not had a chance to use it (long story-- I don't have any complaints about the product). Check out rowalden.com/ .

Nautiraid also make a rowing ("Aviron") version of their Grande Narak 550 tandem for solo use. At "only" 75 cm wide I imagine it's a rocket!

Yes-- the klepper/ LH A2 is far wider at 90 cm or more.

Anyone have plans or photos for an adapter to mount an Oarmaster rowing rig to Klepper Aerius II?

It's pretty easy to figure out yourself, if you have the boat and the oarmaster. I simply made one up with a piece of plywood, several braces cut from 2x4, and some straps. See page 189 of Ralph Diaz's second edition...
baseplate 14.5"x52x3/8". He doesn't say much more than that.

I recently acquired a rowing rig that sits on a single rail--not a double rail like the Oarmaster. Do you think I would be able to mount that in my Klepper?
