Hi Scotspaddler,
Those sound like a good little fleet. Which is the one that needs the work?
I bought an old Tyne Prefect, the skin was thoroughly shot. I reskinned it using Yost's methods (glued pvc) and have become very fond of it. It is shorter and lighter than my other folding boats and goes together pretty fast. It also fits into one rucksack, unlike the Kleppers, so it is a bit more portable (though not as small and light as the Pakboat Puffin I acquired recently). While the glied pvc is probably not as robust as getting a hypalon and canvas skin made for the boat, it was a good deal cheaper (a little over a £100 for materials, if I remember rightly) and it is satisfying to have done the repairs oneself.
Let us know how your project goes.
All the best,
Ian
