If you're not familiar with Operation Frankton, by all means read the article. It's a major piece of history in the world of folding boats.
There's also a new book about the mission from Quentin Rees, who previously published
a book about the the development of the folding "canoes" used
by the Frankton raiders and other commandos.n The new book is entitled
The Cockleshell Heroes: The The Final Witness
and it looks like a good one. I'm ordering a copy.
(Thanks to John Allsop for the pointers.)
